I used aftermarked parts but they are very good.
I changed the belt because I got a code P0342 camshaft position sensor signal low from the A bank.Engine wont rev over 5000 rpm,if I do that it goes in to the safe or slip mode.I changed the timing belt, bat I get the same code again! Actually now I have two problems camshaft position sensor and timing belt. This is a nightmare please help!

  • Yes I fix it, changed tensioner and camshaft position sensor. Now runs like new.

  • All information will be used from AutoData.I know for timing marks on the gearbox-crankshaft and camshaft ,and to use proper tension on all bolts.

  • It is necessary to remove the engine holder to remove the tensioner and this is the biggest problem.Do you have some advice how to remove tensioner without touching engine holder??? I haven't changed my belt because I had no garage and tools required, I have friends who will lend all the necessary tools.Mechanic who changed all parts again asking for money :)))

  • Don't worry man it's a simple procedure replacement here I only asked for an opinion what is wrong and what would be the problem. Now I'm sure it's the tensioner.I have mechanic experience,I agree with you this should not touch anyone because it can lead to serious engine damage.

  • Yes you are right the previous tensioner was narrower. But the stupid mechanic installed a tensioner new generation that does not match. But OEM code says it's for that car and engine.I have to change the tensioner as soon as possible because it will destroy belt.I'm gonna do tomorrow by myself, and camshaft position sensor I ordered new one.Thanks.

  • cheap belts and over tensioned i think did you get it fixed

  • I recomend to do not change by yourself. It's not that simple. The tensioner can be changed without taking off all front :) It can be done with just takeing off just tensioner. Realy man, don't do it by your self, if your not mechanic and know how to do it.

  • I had the same problem. The distance between tensioner and engine is to large. There artwo tips of tensioners, one with larger distancer other with smaler. Thats the problem.

  • I had the same problem. Don't wory. The distance between tensioner and engine is to large. The problem is that there are two tipes of tensioner. One wich have biger doubt and other with smaller doubt. The mehanic who changed your tensioner abiosly puted the wrong one.
