I've been trying to find some way of expressing, and examining, various correlations between the way nature operates, and how we operate to see if economics is as complicated as some make it out to be. The fact is, it can get very complex, but there are simple drivers that can help us understand the seemingly complex structures we encounter, and where we may be going wrong when it comes to the creation of an economics enhancing infrastructure that often comes up and bites us in the end.
"Maximize Your Resources" is something that can be applied to all living things. That includes us, and, most notably, the institutions we create. I think we need to understand that these institutions can't be left to operate on their own without careful vigilance and proper pruning to keep them from becoming as invasive as any other living thing.
Our constant struggle to "tame nature" and make it serve us, applies no less to any of our institutions. ANY! That applies equally to governmental institutions as well as private institutions. Take note also, that it applies to us as individuals. We are constantly trying to get the bigger better deal, the big nest egg, the assurance of our survivability in a manner that is desirable. What's desirable? How about living on room service?
