by: Jon Legaspi

Note:
Please watch in full screen.

It's been a while now since I have opened this Youtube account and I am amazed how my viewers interact to the videos I have uploaded so far. I have been receiving requests of making song tutorial, lots of them. I love doing it :-) , so I was thinking before doing all of these tutorials, I made this basic simple slow 4/4 piano accompaniment which I believe will help most of the people who requested song tutorials.

This is the 1st video about piano accompaniment. I hope you guys find it useful.

Don't forget to subscribe, rate and post your comments about the video. Others might find your comments useful. Send me a personal message if there's something else I can do to improve this tutorial. Thank you guys.

God bless everyone!

Peace and love,
Jon (Notes4Him)

  • thanks for your great video!

    one thing i dont understand,

u wrote"connecting note can be 2nd,4th,6th/9th note of the scale.

When I play C chord. when i try to play connecting note with my right hand hitting the 4th/6th key,it doesnt sounds right.

So what does it basically mean?or am i missing something?

    thank you SO MUCH!

  • @tsubasa777 Hi Tsu, :) well these notes like 2nd, 4th. 6th and 9th could be applied or use in a particular song but not all of them at once. There might be some songs or chords in a song that requires you to play these any other melodies. You just have to find the perfect spot. to apply these "color tone or connecting notes". I usually use these notes in accompaniment rather than playing melody & these are passing notes. I hope this helps.Love and peace, Jon (Notes4Him)

  • brother Jon, thank you very for this. Thank you for time and responding to my request. God Bless You Jon.

  • @adikparin10 You are welcome brother. God bless you too.

  • Thanks for this freebie.

The professional fee of teachers who teach this accompaniment patterns and the use of connecting notes (other name, I believe is color tone) is high.

A candle looses nothing or its light by lighting another candle.

    Thanks for sharing again.

  • @handsomepianist Hello my friend :-) I like what you wrote, " a candle looses nothing by lighting another candle", instead it multiplies.

Thank you too my handsomepianist friend :)

    God bless.

  • I did learn something from this tutorial.

I am learning to play for my church and accompany myself when the Lord gives me a song. This is a blessing.

    I thank Jesus for you.

    God Bless

  • THIS IS MORE THAN AWESOME... THANK YOU SOOOO VERY MUCH FOR SHARING YOUR GIFT AND TALENT! GRACIAS!

  • Even this was the first basic lesson, I was so surprised how good the improvisation at the end of this video. Thanks!

  • There are so many useless videos on youtube, but thanks god there are people like you! I learned to play various melodies with the right hand by myself, and meanwhile completly ignored the left one, which was an obvious error.

Now i'm having problems to coordinate both hands when trying to add chords to my melodies and mostly don't have any clue how to find and play the right chord.

Your video is very simple and understandable, i will add it to favorites and subscribe. Thank you very much!

  • hi jon thanks for a great tutorial and takin the time to show us,,,may who u believe in bless u and keep u all the best cheers for now Mac
