This is Paul with Aradani Studios. My brother and I have been designing our Tron costumes, and thought we would document the way that we mod our discs so that if you like, you can have a more accurate disc than the standard issue toy. The items needed for this mod include:

Tron Disc toy
2 ft, EL wire from www.elwirepros.com (with Quick connector)
3V Inverter (http://www.coolight.com/product-p/cl-iptc-3v-3-7ft.htm)
12V LED strip from eBay, from seller formula-j87
1 or 2 12V battery holder, Radio Shack
Double AAA battery holder, Radio Shack
Spare Wire

Part Two covers mounting the EL Wire and LED Strip to the toy disc. Look for more soon!

  • whats the delivery cost to uk ?

  • @Sham624 In order to have insurance, it would have to be mailed using Global Express. I think GE shipping is about $32-40. Unfortunately this is the cheapest shipping option that has both tracking and full insurance.

  • You won't be able to fit a double AA battery holder in the disc. You *might* be able to fit 2 single AA holders in there, but I doubt it. Because the EL Wire draws so little power, 2 AAA batteries should be fine for you. Thanks!

  • Love the tutorials, thanks. Ive nearly completed my first disc mod. Just wanted to ask about the diagram for the EL wire side of disc. In part 1 of the tutorial you state that the el wire needs 2 AAA batteries but in the diagram in part 3 the photo shows 2 AA batteries. Did you decide the AA work better/last longer or is there just a letter missing from the description? In addition to your mod specks I've added 3mm 12v LEDs where the 4 White spots are on the front and back of the disc. I also a

  • @Unit16Recordings AA batteries really won't fit, not enough physical volume in the disc to hold them.

  • The 5mm fits perfectly into the slot where the C ring used to be.

  • should have said END OF LINE for the ending of this video... would have made an excellent ending. Very cool btw!

  • At 7:35 the audio says AAA battery holder, but then at 8:05 the diagram and audio says AA battery holder. What type of battery holder is it exactly?

    Thanks.

  • how much mm has the el wire have to be

  • I can make whatever color you would like, but no matter what color you order, I need to order the parts to make the disc. So there will be a delay in making your disc as I wait for the parts to arrive.
