Excerpt from Chapter 1 "Prelude I in C major, BWV 846" played by Konstatin Lifschitz
From: VAI DVD 4488 - Konstantin Lifschitz plays Bach: The 48 Preludes & Fugues of the Well-Tempered Clavier Books 1 & 2
Bach's magnum opus, The Well-Tempered Clavier, is, for keyboard artists, a daunting master-piece exploiting the very limits of the instrument and those who brave its challenges. The young Russian pianist Konstantin Lifschitz has made Bach a specialty in his programming and his performances of the complete Well-Tempered Clavier - played from memory - in New York and Miami have elicited superlatives from the critics.

  • Brilliant interpretation

  • The echos sound good only for a few measures, then it's over kill. You started out beautifully, but then...it became a little redundant. But you have beautiful touch, very soft and pretty. Just the interpretation needs adjusting. But I can tell that you are a very good pianist.

    Thanks for sharing...

  • I dont like it played this way, it seems to loose its essence.

  • @asre2001 Yes, I agree. But overall, this is very beautifully done.

    Thank you.

  • @BankFace "The interpretation needs adjusting"

  • @flamingice007 Gounod insulted Bach by stupidly inserting a redundant bar.
