My apologies for a bit of intermittent "flipping" on this vid ... I am only as good as my tools allow; me thinks that my television is on it's way out! :)

Oh, the ol' "bait and switch" is alive and well in the Town of Irondequoit. According to the Town's web site, the public input was meant to be at the very end of the night - Thank Heavens, Bob Ament did not arrive to Town Hall later in the evening - because, if he had believed that he would "be heard" - he would have only found out that the public input was closed, and he would have missed the opportunity to speak. Since this meeting, some have said that this was the plan ... the ol' "bait and switch" .... never fall for that, Irondequoit residents!

At the Irondequoit Town Board meeting 4-16-09, Mr. Bob Ament comes once again before the Town Board to address his concerns regarding the now ever-ending issue of our Seniors, and the Senior Center.

As he begins, he reminds us all that he is a life long Democrat, as well as an immediate resident of the Pinegrove building.

Quoting Mr. Ament -
"You have exactly 60 days to bring this project together before our target date in June" - and then, "I hope that we can get it done"

Then, when reflecting his time in Africa ... with comparison in Government - "When Governments don't keep their promises to our Seniors Citizens of this community - they die a little bit every day from loneliness, neglect, and depression"

Profound, to say the very least.

He continues in sharing a previous conversation that he recently had with Democrat, Brighton Town Supervisor, Sandra Frankel - and clearly quotes what she had shared with him - "Bob, will you move back to Brighton so that we may get some work done?"

I am not surprised by this ... at all. I have heard many good things when it comes to Supervisor Frankel, of Brighton. Sounds to me like she knows how to "work a room" when it comes to opportunity for her community, and it's progress.

Alas - He quotes our very own, Councilwoman Gail Bello - "We were elected 4 years ago with the promise that we would never play politics with the residents tax dollars - I sincerely believe that we have lived up to that promise, and insured in a new era protecting tax payers hard earned money"

Hmmm ... really Gail? If so, then please explain to me why Supervisor Heyman is telling this obvious capable, intelligent, capable, resourceful, and selfless resident to cease and desist from helping this community - more importantly, our Seniors? I would invite you to answer that, if able. I would love to learn that from you, as leadership of this town that has invested zero (that means zilch, zippo, nothing, nada) since you were elected? Please Gail, answer that one.

Mr. Ament then touches on the LaBella study and how ridiculous he feels it to be (whew, it concerns me too, Bob! - actually, it blows my mind apart!)
