Multiple stop motion animations with a wire armature. Includes a walk cycle and a sweet front flip.

All projects for my Stop Motion 1 class at SCAD.

FAQ:
-24 frames per second
-1/16th inch and 1/8th inch twisted wire to make the armature
-Propoxy 20 epoxy putty for the "bone" portions
-Jumping rig was a 2 x 4 piece of wood screwed into the table with 1/8th inch twisted wire attached to the armatures hip where I drilled a hole.
-Reference footage of walk is footage of me walking.
-Reference footage of the flip is just some dude I found online, hah.

  • really really nice footage, pretty dam inspiring too. The walk and the flip seem pretty much perfect. Did you do any onion skinning with the original footage to get such similar results, or was it just by eye?

  • Thanks Max! I didn't rotoscope or anything the footage directly, but did side by side compare each frame to see it was matching up.

  • What is the song?

It is so helpful to see the number of takes and also interesting to read you didn't do any rotoscoping but did side to side comparisons instead.
