Kokoda was a savage military campaign fought without mercy between foes who seriously underestimated each other a desperate campaign to keep Papua New Guinea from falling to the Japanese during the darkest days of World War II. Based on the bestselling book Kokoda by Paul Ham and filmed in Australia, Japan and along the Kokoda Track, this documentary series is a raw and intimate story of men under unimaginable pressure. And its also a detailed investigation of how the confusion of war is found not only at the frontline but also in the homes and corridors of power of those on both sides of the conflict.

  • The snakes, spiders, wombats, crocodile, sharks, heat drought, being upside down all the time would have slowed the nips to a crawl, after which the "diggers" would have chased their sorry asses into the Tasman sea, where the fuzzies would finish 'em off with boomerangs. God bless the Aussies

  • I'm no expect but even if Japan had been successful in PNG and eventually landed in Australia, my way of thinking is that they would have overstretched themselves and Australians would have gone to a partisan style warfare to make any occupation unsustainable.

  • Best Documentary ever! Thankyou for posting!
