The snakes, spiders, wombats,crocodile,sharks,heat drought, being upside down all the time would have slowed the nips to a crawl, after which the "diggers" would have chased their sorry asses into the Tasman sea, where the fuzzies would finish 'em off with boomerangs. God bless the Aussies

I'm no expect but even if Japan had been successful in PNG and eventually landed in Australia, my way of thinking is that they would have overstretched themselves and Australians would have gone to a partisan style warfare to make any occupation unsustainable.
