This 2004 conversation was part of an event organized by Dr. Gloria Harper Dickinson for students in her First Seminar class. In connection with the 50th anniversary of the Supreme Court's decision in Brown v. Board of Education, the students had the opportunity to do oral history interviews with 15 women who graduated from college before 1954. Over lunch, Prof. Kim Pearson had the opportunity to talk to the oldest of the women, Elyse White, who 96 years old at the time.
