This male panther kitten is shown in rehab after a vehicle strike in May, 2012. Staff from FWC and the US Fish and Wildlife Service rescued the male kitten in Collier County after it was found on the side of the road. He died of his injuries in June of 2012. Vehicle strikes are one of the top causes of panther deaths. Drivers are encouraged to slow down and drive carefully in rural areas where panthers are known to live. To report a dead or injured panther, call the FWC's Wildlife Alert Hotline at 888-404-FWCC.
