I'm half black and half Mescalero and chiricahua apache. Yet I too had to prove myself by learning our language and culture. quite ironically, I was made fun of from the full bloods who sagged the jeans, talked like they were from a project, and tried to be...me. Black. Yet they were more accepting of a half white half native person than they were of me. A hard lesson. But necessary to learn the true beauty of our culture.
