Highlights from his address to the nation.

I know I said I'd make video about this but I haven't had time. Instead you can read this blog I wrote on the subject:

  • Will Jacob Zuma address the U.N. soon??

  • he decided not go. he has to sort out the transition.

  • "Live from Tshwane"

Tshwane is the new name for Pretoria. Correct?

Will Cape Town be renamed "Joe Slovo City"?

  • I think Cape Town will remain Cape Town. It's the first I hear of this Joe Slovo City.

Indeed, that's the new name for Pretoria.

  • Who is in charge now and will there b new elections soon ?

  • there will be elections in 7 months. he will be presidident until all constitutional requrements have been met. the speaker will take over.

  • We thank you Mbeki for your leadership. No government is perfect and yes you had your flaws but you did much for our international image and position within world economics. You allowed the world to see that African leaders can be statesmen. Well done, we wish you well and may you remain active in our country - we need you.

  • that's stupid

  • This man was leading RSA to a first world..m still totaly sad he resign. His mannerism, speech delivery is of high intellegent. Each man has his floor, Mbeki had high pontential. Zuma is just appauling, a joke and populist. nothing else. Mbeki may not been perfect who else did our nation have??? I Hate politic...

  • Hows it going Wolf? I've been busy with the latest addition to the family, and school!

  • Agreed. A leader does not necessarily need to have a 'formal' education to be able to lead a nation. A good leader displays charisma, the power and responsibility to bring about change. However, when it comes to running a state, and when it gets down to 'administrative' tasks like representing a country at the World Economic Forum, here we need education. Leadership is separate to the ability to govern. A country needs both.

  • corry777,

Setting Zuma aside for a moment. There are many people who are "self educated" in USA, having arrived in this nation with nothing but dreams and desire. I personally know two people who came to USA with NOTHING, NO FORMAL EDUCATION and they are now far more prosperous that MOST Americans.

When speaking to them, you would never have guessed that they have no "formal education".

Formal education does NOT equal intelligence

IQ. You either have it, or you don't..

  • cory777,

I have much pity for you, because you seem saturated with negitivity. That will eventually take a toll upon your physical health.

Have you been to Japan?? Do you know and Japanese citizens? Is Japan's view of "black african" immigration any different that the Japanese collective view on immigration of ANY non-Japanese?

Japan's population is shrinking, thus, in the future, either the birthrate must increase, immigration must increase,..or entitlements must be reformed..

  • Khaya you should be the next leader of ANC.

  • Only problem is we need foreign investment. More people in SA on disability grants than registered tax payers. We are also not producing much, selling all our platinum and minerals as raw products and buying the value added products back from foreign countries. I'm working in public health sector for 9 years and have seen things steadily getting worse. Not being pessimistic...doing my bit, but we need to keep the Asian and European countries happy!

  • Shame on Mbeki, but even more shame on Jay Z (Jacob Zuma)
