€1.3 billion of EU assistance to Serbia

The Agency opened its office in Belgrade in January 2001, and its work since then has touched every aspect of daily life in Serbia. Over the last seven years the EAR has managed programmes and projects in virtually all areas of public and business life, from government, administration and the economy, to justice, civil society and the media. A close partnership with the government has been essential to the success of the Agencys work in Serbia. The new financial assistance Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) will be implemented by the European Commission Delegation in Serbia with the government increasingly taking the lead.
