Hello Everyone!! Here is, in my opinion, the best part of my personal brush collection. These are the brushes I use most and I absolutely adore.
In this video I discuss brushes from three different brush lines: Nars, Sigma, and Bobbi Brown.
This video is peppered with my official review of Sigma Brushes. First of all, I personally have nothing against Sigma and I have no problem with what they are doing. In fact, I respect the fact that there is an alternate option for those who dont have $500 to spend on a brush collection. As I have said, the brushes are great (I can only speak from my experience...and it is unclear whether or not these will last for many years...but they do the job, which is my main concern).
My thoughts on Sigma in a nutshell: Only you see your brushes. You don't have to have name-brand brushes to have great brushes. The brushes exceeded my initial expectations (which were admittedly low). I will continue to use the brushes. I really like the brush roll/fold. The price is fantastic. I have had no problems at all. Sigma, as a company, is very professional, welcoming, and thoughtful. These brushes are great for a beginner, a guy who has no brushes and doesnt want to invest a lot in brushes for very basic makeup, a gift, or any non-makeup artist who wants to build a larger collection. Enough said.
Honestly, I would love to give their premium kit a shot. We'll just have to see.
I have/show three eyebrow brushes. The Nars Eyebrow brush, the Bobbi Brown Eyebrow Shader brush, and the Bobbi Brown Eyebrow brush.
The powder/bronzer brush is the Sigma SS150
The angled brush (which I only use for my Bronze Universel) is the SS168
The stipling brush is the SS187
The amazing foundation brush is Bobbi Brown's Foundation brush.
The blush brush is from Nars
The concealer brushes are as follows: SS194, Nars Flat Concealer brush, Nars Pointed Concealer brush, Bobbi Brown Concealer brush.
Finally, I have the Bobbi Brown Touch Up brush and the Bobbi Brown Lip Brush.
I also discuss the Nars Ita brush and the Smashbox #19 Face & Body brush (MUST HAVE).
Here are the links to my favorite Sigma reviews online (both good and bad):

If you are interested in the premium kit, check out Kokolaroo's video. She bought it with her own money.
There are many other great reviews, but I thought these gave the best overview when watched together.
Again, thank you all so much for watching! I really appreciate your viewership and I cannot wait to read and respond to the comments!!

**Almost all of these brushes were purchased with my own money. Honestly, I wanted to try out the sigma brushes, so they sent them to me to review. I have fulfilled my obligation to provide a review. I have not been paid, sponsored, etc. to make this video...unlike some other reviewers. Those who are merely sent the kit are encouraged to offer constructive, thoughtful, and honest reviews...nothing else**
You all know that I don't need more stuff. Hence, I don't plan to do reviews on things I receive for free in the future...I just saw this an exception (plus, I had a lingering curiosity). Trust me, my opinion can not be bought off...especially for a simple cosmetic brush kit (I am not captivated by free stuff....at the end of the day it is still stuff). This video explains it all. I can appreciate both high-end and low-end stuff (and I think almost anyone can as well).
where did you purchase those brush guards? they look so much more durable than the ones ive seen.
lensxflair 1 year ago
@lensxflair The brush guards in the video actually came with those brushes. I prefer the brush guards that look like plastic mesh (the ones that expand and contract), however, because they actually keep the shape of the brush better than these (although these prevent dust and do keep them somewhat in shape). :D Thanks for asking. I am sure you can find similar plastic brush guards online. :D

did you get sent the sigma brushes for free? because i feel like you are much more honest in your other videos, i feel like the 187 nor the 168 are in no way comparable to the mac versions.

@Sk8erBoiZach Hmmm, I dont have the mac equivalent versions of either of those, but i am sure the real mac ones are much better. I still like the sigma copies, but I would happily replace them with the mac ones (or the guerlain ones).
