This flight tonight is a Joni Mitchells Song
But this is the Nazareths version of it
This live version is on album called Nazology
And studio version of it is on Loud 'N' Proud
------------------------------------------------------------------- Lyrics:
Look Out The Left The Captain Said
The Lights Down There Thats Where Well Land
Saw A Falling Star Burning
High Above The Las Vegas Sand
It Wasnt The One That You Gave To Me
That Night Down South Between The Trailers
Not The Early One That You Wish Upon
Not The Northern One That Guides In The Sailors
Youve Got That Touch So Gentle And Sweet
But Youve Got That Look So Critical
Cant Talk To You Babe You Know I Get So Weak
Sometimes I Think That Love Is Just Mythical
Up Theres A Heaven,Down Theres A Town
Blackness Everywhere Any Little Lights Shine
Blackness,Blackness Draggin Me Down
Come On Light A Candle In This Heart Of Mine
Starbright,Starbright,Youve Got The Lovin That I Like
Turn This Crazy Bird Around
Should Not Have Got On This Flight Tonight
Im Drinkin Sweet Champagne Got The Headphones Up High
Cant Numb You,Cant Drum You Out Of My Mind
Theyre Singin-"Goodbye Baby, Baby Bye-Bye,Ooh! Love Is Blind"
Up Go The Flaps ,Down Go The Wheels
Hope You Got Your Heat Turned On Baby
Hope Theyve Finally Fixed Your Automobile
Hope Its Better When We Meet Again Babe
Starbright,Starbright,Youve Got The Lovin That I Like
Turn This Crazy Bird Around
Should Not Have Got On This Flight Tonight
Should Not Have Got On This Flight Tonight

I saw this live with the extra piano and I think if was on the Fool Circle Tour, so if anyone has that, there might be more with electric piano -

Given their treatment of this song, Nazareth may as well have been singing the alphabet.

Great song, great band, but WTF is up with the lame piano tinkling?

I disagree in the slaughter thing. The original version is so totally different, as in different solar systems. What Nazareth did, was much rather a slick fuzzing, phasing and metal pressure cooking of one of Joni's lesser titles, magically producing that solid hardrock gem it is nowadays recognized as.

Noway, Joni slaughtered it and she wrote it. Nazareth DID IT JUSTICE. I've heard joni's version and to me, it sounds like something that you'd hear in a fuckin' nuthouse somewhere. LOL Sorry, but Joni Mitchell BLOWS!!!
