It's been 40 years since the release of Cool Hand Luke, starring Paul Newman.
Before filming began, a Huntington family introduced Newman to parts of West Virginia that helped him produce one of his most legendary roles.
This story first aired in in September 2006 on the program "Outlook" on West Virginia PBS. It was rebroadcast Sept. 20, 2007. It was produced by Kristin Murdock and Russ Barbour
