Mayor Bloomberg calls it a surge drill. Oh, Yeah, I'm a Taxpaying NYer. I don't aprove of this rediculous waste of tax money. All they do is jam up traffic, endanger the pedestians, make a lot of damn noise, and most of all, pull these officers away from Real Police duties... Oh yeah, that waste of God's Blessed air (Mayor Bloomberg) should just quit his day job, and go home to his boyfriend on the west side....

Ans: If you think 50 or 60 cars is "all" - you are in error. NYCPD has more than 20x that number. Not including Motorcycles,scooters, 4x4s, unmarked cars, Trucks & they even have buses with 35,000 cops to man them 24x7. So the amount you see is nothing. many years ago, I have seen them mobilize & send close to 3,000 cops to an area in less than 4 hours. Now THAT was impressive.
