OK, speak up all you want -- just don't call people gay simply because they espouse certain political beliefs. (for the record, I'm not)
As for a child rapist, of course I would speak up! That's because a child is neither mature nor consenting, whereas a grown man is both. I think that's a pretty big difference -- a gay man and a child rapist are not analogous. You say I'm entitled to be gay, but no one would suggest I'm entitled to be a rapist!
