Here is a tip to avoid overtraining called perceived rate of exertion in Kinesiology terms- meaning you should be able to talk or sing while on a long slow distance endurance base training run- to avoid overtraining and undertraining- 3-4 days a week regularly- start at this rate brisk walk- work up to a slow jog once trained- every 3 weeks or so- add another 5-10 minutes on to your run until you are running at this same perceived pace level for an hour solid- it will take 3-6 mos. but you can go from unfit to athletic in no time- consistency is essential- and make sure you have medical clearance first to stress yourself.   • There are several components to overall fitness which are all important to stay youthful and healthy all your life- but if I had to pick just one- i would pick aerobic fitness like running 3-4 times a week for upwards to an hour long every time- long slow distance as we are biologically designed to outdistance game etc :0 so you will get incredible energy reserves by doing this consistently- start slow and build- no speed- but build endurance for the first 6 mos-2 yrs. first- Blessings- Rebecca
