Lew Grade had a lot to do with Gerry Andersons supermarionation series too.

Yes he did. He finally bought Anderson's company in the 1960s

I remember this clip very well (although it seems to me that the video was a lot clearer). I was nine years old and was immediately captivated, much like everyone else. Very shortly thereafter, an article with a photograph turned up in the Detroit Free Press, followed by Beatles bubble gum (with cards) in stores. By the time of the first Sullivan appearance, things were already at fever pitch. An amazing phenomenon--I'm glad I witnessed it.

This is one of the reasons I never liked this pompous, egotistical, arrogant ass (Jack Parr).

Judging from his tone of comments sounds like Jack got a bit of a chip on his shoulder for missing the Beatle bus and coming in second. Ringo may have only got "A Quarter" of the break up money Jack but I assure you he got a hell of a lot more then you could have ever dreamed of getting.

Same thing happened to me. I clearly remember my mother waking me up to see them - don't know why, it was late at night for a 9yo. I always remember it as one of the best things she ever did for me. Thanks Mom!

Jack parr was completely ignorant to what was happening right before his eyes!! He had no talent himself, so to belittle the greatest rock and roll band of all time, only supports the statement that he was just a mainstream moron, who never could understand true talent.

"I had them filmed"??? Gotta call BS on that. These are snippets from the 1963 BBC documentary "The Mersey Sound" I'm sure it's on youtube somewhere.

He had them on 'by film', as he says. Still, we must give him credit.
