@doarner That's Ayami Kojima's artwork for Castlevania. I think ever since it's impact alongside Symphony Of the Night, it became somewhat of a landmark, and so did the androgynous character designs for the characters.
I personally love her work, and it really fits the universe of Castlevania. But I admit, it's not for everyone, such as yourself.

@Assassin7G3 man if you're gonna be that guy you gotta get the facts straight at least! The version of Vampire Killer you're thinking of was on the MSX, I'm not even sure if the Amiga ever even came out in Japan...and also that game was in development at the same time as the NES Castlevania, and was released a month later. The original-original version of Castlevania is the Famicom Disk System version, which is pretty much identical to the cart version everybody knows. ^O^

I don't mind this Simon's design too much. He still looks like he's ready to kick some ass. And hey! It's better than the Death Note abomination from Judgment!
