Here's my version of Richie Cole's famous 'I love lucy 'arrangement - actually this is Richie's arrangement. I am playing over exactly the same chords at the same tempo 288 bpm. I composed a new song over the existing chords to protect myself from copyright infringement. Hope you like it - quite difficult this one.

  • great tone but you got 2 watch ur intination.

  • @saxman1141 I'm really surprised that you are the first one to comment on my poor intonation. Yep you are right (although Im making mistakes on this as well) The problem is three things. Me (Im rubbish) the mouthpice (doesn't suit me) the saxophone. A lot of people will wonder why I mentioned My conn 6m. Well, when these saxophones were first made they had a micro tuner on the end of the crook. Mine has locked up in the past.

  • @saxman1141 2. So somebody cut it off and put a piece in that was to short (by about 10mm) . It took me ages to work out why it was playing so out of tune. Anyway i eventually found out by studying pics of conns on the net. I re solderd on a new peice so the mouthpeice could fit in the correct position. Unfortunately the end of the crook should end in a taper that is critical to these saxes. I had to guess it and there is the problem. Still better than it was.

  • In Soviet Russia, saxaphones play you.

  • ah that explains it. Dont call yourself rubbish by the way i would kill for a tone like yours and you get around the sax really well dont put yourself down

  • Great sound as usual. Rolled tone holes - you can't beat 'em !

  • Superb alto sound, great playing also. Makes me want to pull my 6M out of the closet and get it fixed up. She needs alot of work. I play the 32 Selmer Super alto for big band, but am also reminded by your video, there is nothing like the Conn sound....and you playing of course!

  • awesome playing!!!

  • ill
