The ArrowHawk Gyroplane, while costing roughly half of an equivalent sized helicopter to buy and operate, is runway "independent" (capable of vertical takeoff and landing, (can be landed safely and normally with no power) is less subject to maintenance and down time than a helicopter, is much easier to fly than a helicopter, can be configured on scales from single-seat to military freight cargo vessel size, and are considered the safest aircraft in the sky because GBA gyroplanes cannot stall. With airspeed (if it is moving through the air) the Gryoplane can be controlled and flown safely with a wide glide range.
