Emery Video Contest Video

The main storyline of the video is about a kid trying to write a story and he has a terrible case of writer's block. The video takes place in a small section of the story.

Tried to relate the video to the song as much as possible, but without being REAL obvious and overdoing it. So, I decided to go with symbolism to represent different things. For instance, I take the song as being about purity, pre marital sex and basically just the meaning of it. How once you lose your virginity, its gone. There is no getting it back and no second chances and its lost all meaning by rushing into it. So as opposed to using a guy and a girl, I like to think the guy writing the story represents a guy in a relationship. The balloon represents his virginity (white = purity) and when you let it go...there is no way to get that balloon back. its gone.

So what happens is this kid writing the story is having trouble, he keeps making changes to it..and everytime he changes something in the story, it changes something in real life. (things start disappearing in the room) The more he changes it, the more disappears. Until he is left with nothing.

So obviously all the balloon shots are the story that the guy is writing, and the scenery changes represent him changing the story.

Also, night is the complete opposite of day. I like to think red is the opposite of white, and popping the balloon is opposite of letting it go.

hey baboonbutter, like the circus & temptation ideas...where he is walking is not a particular destination, for it is an unfinished story. the point of him stopping is because the writer cant get past that point. the boy in the story stops because the writer stops writing. thats what that represents.
