@Canbelto1 It's not 'überdunkeln' but she's using/mixing her breast register, which gives more colour in the low notes and she has a lovely transitions towards the higher, crystal clear ones. And of course this is her 'Fach'.....

wow one of my favorite arias i sang it last year in a recital- i wish i had heard this before simply sublime i listen to Price a lot but never heard her sing this

I find myself, thinking the exact same thing. The person, I always associate with this aria, is Renee Fleming...but, this is the first time I've heard Leontyne Price sing this...and I love it. Such beauty! I can't decide which one I like more.

The dark side of the moon and light for our lives.. Exceptional!

Love the seamless legato. Can't make a choice who sings it better between Ms. Price and Ms. Fleming. They both hold that high note in the end very well, not cut short.

@Canbelto1 Honey....?!!! Where do you hear some tension in madame Price's voice? It is beautifully produced and what beautiful vocal colors she uses to express this gorgeous music. Sorry but I don't agree with you here !!
