This was the 3rd season, and at this point, Leonard Nimoy hated the scripts and was not fond at all of the Star Trek's producer, Fred Freiberger, who took over for Gene Roddenberry who left after Star Trek was moved to Friday nights at 10 pm. Nimoy even wrote to Doug Cramer, the head of Paramount TV asking for help with the disregard his character was being treated.

This whole situation is so... awkward and embarassing even to watch. I can't imagine to live through it without killing all the witnesses :). (Hell, to be honest, I cannot even imagine to be the actor and do this).

I saw this episode for the first time about a week ago. its funny at first, but the more it goes on the worse i felt for them. that would be so humiliating :( especially for poor spock

not funny. When I was watching it, I was sooooo angry and wished those antic humanoids who were controlling Kirk and Spock to be stabbed from hell's heart (in stomach for sloooow painful death).
