Perfect for caramel lovers! These cookies are crispy, but have a delicious chewy caramel center.

  • 2 Questions you added salt after you put in the butter... Was it because your butter was "unsalted"??

What does "lightening your flour" with your knife mean? Thank you!

  • @kevico2 I always add a bit of salt to my cookie batter, whether I use salted butter or not. There is something about salt that really intensifies the flavor in some baked goods ans it's a nice balance to the sweetness. When I "lighten" my flour, I'm stirring it with a dinner knife, right before I dip and level. When flour sits in a container or bag, it settles and gets more compact. You don't want to measure when it is dense like that. Good questions! -Cindy
