A video I saved from a long-since disappeared website that was trying to chronicle the remianing AMX/3's. I do not take credit for this video.

  • That's the Ford 390, right? :o)

  • The 390 is not a small block. AMC didn't have "small" or "big" blocks. One block was used for all engines from 290 to 401.

  • Terrific project! Hope to see one in "real life" one day. Do they have AMC motors?

  • @vintageracer25 Yes, modified AMC 390 V8's. There is a project in the works to reproduce these car in kit form.

  • CHRYSLER......Put this car into production!!!

  • I've just started dipping into your website and already my eyes are bulging. Fantastic. Unfortunately, the AMC hobby is loaded with know-it-alls, BS'ers and some really oddball people--and not odd in a good way. Nice to see someone that knows something of what they speak. I saw an AMX/3 at a museum in San Diego. AWESOME. And as an owner of a slightly tatty AMX myself, I can attest to how awesome that 390 is!!!!

  • Hi, I am the creator of this video. I extended permission for its use when I posted it to the old AMCforums. It is too bad the funding for this documentation project was pulled after just two. So much has changed on the AMX/3 front these days. Jerry Beck aka amcboy PS no problem keeping it up here. I might do a re-edit with the rest of the footage. I have a few hours worth and 100s of pictures.

  • Really want one of these. Can you do one in right hand drive? :)

  • Good job DiscoKat, well done. Check out my website AMX390.com for more AMX/3 stuff. I have the original AMX/3 prototype and a replica under construction.

  • Excellent! Those small block 390s are a fine motor with great potential. (not bad to begin with either!!!)
