False Economy by Alan Beattie
I enjoyed the book, most of all the chapter comparing Argentina and the United States. I was struck by this bit:

New York is the only one out of the sixteen largest cities in the northeastern or midwestern states whose population is larger than it was fifty years ago.

Over that same time period our national population has roughly doubled. The subtitle of the book is A Surprising Economic History of the World.

  • Aregntina is poor?? LOL its too easy to realize that this guy doesnt know anything about argentina. Argentina is the second biggest economy from southAmerica, and the country with the biggest PIB Per Capita from all southamerica, and this guy call argentina poor?? what a ignorant

  • terrible um interviewer, but Beattie still manages to inject some sense and intelligence into the session

  • Thats why Perons presidence was so relevant for us, because of the heavy change in the main economy line,
