Mothership UFO Motion Graphics Animation Over North Myrtle Beach SC

This is a motion graphics/3d animation experiment. I started this project with a video clip from my beach trip back in May of 2010. I capture video from my HD camera to Vegas 9 and then exported a frame-set of around 11 seconds of 1920 x 1080 x 128 video at 29.970 fps to OPENexr file format. I then imported this into Boujou 4.1 and after analysis spit out a Lightwave 3D scene as an LWS file. Importing this into Lightwave 9.5 gave me an excellent 3D camera ready to place whatever I wanted in front of it. In two passes I generated two frame sequences. The first was the spaceship which I modeled in Lightwave's Modeler tool. The second was a 747 which I modified from an OBJ model I found for free on the Internet. This 747 was set up with some Emitters in Lightwave Layout to create the contrails. I then brought all of my layers into After Effects CS3 where I compiled and color graded the clip to resemble a poorer quality of video so that all the elements would blend nicely together. The final sequence was spat out of After Effects as an EXR sequence and brought back into Vegas where I added the watermark and created the final WMV file for upload to YouTube. I had to ditch some of those comments, they were perverse. I didn't really want to get into my "social life" but since you mentioned it. I'm a Systems Engineer for SAIC, and they take about 50 or so hours of my life a week, then there's my three daughters ages ranging from 22 to 9 and my wife of 25 years, so my social life is pretty full actually. Which is why I don't get enough time really to pursue this passion I have for motion graphics. But I'm hoping for more opportunities in the future. :)
