In an article from Press TV recently, it was reported that Italy is becoming more vocal about a ceasefire in the war against Libya. It was reported that a:

Split over Libya war has widened among the NATO member states, with Italy calling for a ceasefire and a humanitarian pause in the ongoing strikes on the North African country.

According to Reuters, Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini stated in Parliament "The need to look for a ceasefire has become more pressing" and that a "ceasefire, which is the first stage toward a political negotiation, a humanitarian stop to military action is fundamental to allow immediate humanitarian aid". The whole truth is that some of those engaged and trapped by the Libyan military are Italians with generational ties to Italy. Perhaps if there were a few more old families of British and French origins living in the areas of Libya closer to Tripoli, the British and French would feel more pressure to ease some of the pressures on their ex-patriots in Libya. In and around the Misrata area is what I call some "white Arabs", people who descended from Europeans who once colonized and controlled Libya and are wealthy. They speak Arabic and follow much of the culture but they have the same hearts of the KKK, neo-Nazis and a good number of the Zionists. The article indicated:

Frattini's comments are important as Italy provides most of the land bases for NATO's bombing missions, the command center, as well as several aircraft for the strike operations.

Britain and France have voiced opposition to Italy's proposal. British Prime Minister David Cameron's spokesman said "the right approach at the present time is to increase the pressure" on Libyan ruler Muammar Gaddafi.

Britain and France were the lead dogs from the very beginning and are working hard to save face, now realizing that killing Gaddafi has turned out to be next to impossible. Turning most of the Libyan people against Gaddafi and his commanders against him has not worked. I'm sure it must have been very disheartening to Cameron and Sarkozy to see a million Libyans in the streets cheering in support of the Libyan government a few days ago. Obama has been relatively silent about the situation, now knowing quite clearly that we have made his Libya campaign a key impediment to his re-election as president. The British have announced that the war has cost them more than $415 million. In April, France had a cost of about $71 million in the war. What does France have to say?

French Foreign Ministry spokesman Bernard Valero said they should continue to increase pressure on Gaddafi, stating that any pause in the mission would give Gaddafi the chance to reorganize himself.

Mr. Valero should take a reality check. Gaddafi is not at all disorganized which is why the war is not going as the gangsters of NATO had indicated or expected. I'm hearing words such as "hard to kill" when talking about Gaddafi, never mind that it is illegal for the US government to assassinate a leader of any country. However, US Senators are calling for the murder of Gaddafi and his family. Little worry at the White House because this president refuses to call this a war, and therefore, no need for any agreement from Congress to carryout this war, in violation of the War Powers Act.

NATO continues to kill Libyan civilians, thinking there is no one with the power to call them to judgment for these criminal acts. The AU has long called for a ceasefire only to have it rejected by the governments of NATO. Arab League Secretary General, Amr Moussa called for these airstrikes as the Arab League voted in favor of them but he now call for a "genuine ceasefire under international supervision." Who and what would make up this "international" body that would supervise the ceasefire? The UN's hands are bloodied with this operation. This must be resolved within the AU and a full investigation of the killings in Libya conducted, starting from the time of what Western and Arab media called peaceful protests. Somehow during those peaceful protests, the rebels had taken large caches of military hardware including battle tanks, missiles and aircrafts.

It depends on how one is observing. What happened after this video is that NATO started bombing schools, tv stations and more civilian areas, i.e., killed thousands of Libyan civilians. Yes, morally, NATO publicly "crumbled". After the bombing was over, NATO stated that it killed "zero" civilians. Yes, morally, NATO has crumbled. The result is China and Russia refusing to going along with NATO with the Syrian situation.

Redemption requires a confession of being wrong and having done wrong to commence these bombings. We shall see if he has the courage to do so.
