Installed my Sound Ordnance B-8PT in my 2011 Subaru WRX sedan a few days ago by splicing into my front L/R speaker wire, running off of factory headunit. When I first heard the subwoofer it sounded terrible. However, after a little tweaking and breaking in, 1 week later it actually sounds pretty decent. It does indeed round out your music well but doesn't go as low as I would like. However... it is tiny and only an 8" and sounds very good for the price.

  • i hafta say.. ive been doin research on a few powered subs for a few weeks... JVC, Boss, SSL, Pyle, Pioneer, and a few others... this vid has convince me to get this one... and i like where the levels are located... good looks!

I ended up sending the subwoofer back. It was too boomy for me. I went with a 12" rockford fosgate subwoofer for the trunk and it sounds a million times better. I really think you can spend your money on a better subwoofer. I wouldn't recommend getting this subwoofer at all. Tried it out for a week and had to send it back.

  • I like the car, it's a shame that it did not come with a Bose system. Subies tend to have lower than average stereo system because they focus about the driving dynamics rather than the audio system.

Yeah its ok though. I'll probably end up upgrading the stock speakers down the line. So far I've got a Pioneer AVH-4200 + Rockford Fosgate 12" subwoofer in the back and music sounds very good :)

  • Hey thanks, I've been looking at under seat subs and I think you just sold me. Sounds good!

  • @xAbre1200 it was your wire setup. A stock head unit puts out low power first of all, then splicing into the wires is not suggested. Im glad your new one sounds better though

  • Hey man, I absolutely love the WRX. I too have an 11 WRX (WR Blue) with an STi spoiler (swapped) and Nameless axleback. What song is this? Probably could just use google the lyrics, but whats the fun in that?

  • @xAbre1200 I was thinking about the Sound Ordinance for my Mazda5. My tech's telling me I should go with 10" Kicker in the trunk. Not sure because I never installed an aftermarket subwoofer. Most of my previous cars had adequate basss. I was actually thinking of getting the 10" powered JL or Rockford Fosgate. But don't want to lose any trunk space. So, was looking at these but from watching this video, the bass sounds slightly inadequate, though I don't like booming bass either.

  • Jessie J lol

  • @xAbre1200 oh that sucks .. thanks for the info
