Way to go to the Weiner family! Listen to the words of wisdom on their YouTube Channel folks: ADOPT a parrot, AFTER you volunteer at a rescue organization to find out if one is really the right pet for you. They require a lot of care and love and work. They are noisy, messy, and a lifetime commitment.

Responsible parrot owners have a designated person in their will.

correction to the comment that all parrot rescues charge adoption fees i know a couple that do NOT charge fees to adopt but there is a home inspection and what not and you must sign contracts just saying have your facts straight before saying ALL charge fees!

What most people don`t think about !
They become as old as methusalem as also said in the clip.
Probably your ancestors will inherit it.
If somebody wants one : Be responsibly !!!
That also is for any other animal !

haha at the news lady comment about getting any sleep in there.. birds DO sleep at night ! :P the question is how do you put up with so many squawks in the daytime!? I hope all those birds find loving PERMANENT homes with owners who know what it takes to care for these wonderful creatures.
I would love to have one of them. I took in my Grandmothers Parakeets when she could no longer care for them. They make such wonderful additions to any family.

I live in Australia, if you will pay my air fare, give me somewhere reasonable to live and a weekly wage, I'll clean the cages for you... and play with the birds... that bit will be for free...

Are you ready for 40 inches of snow and temperatures of minus 35 degrees Fahrenheit between December and February??? Global warming seems to have missed Chicago! :>)

YES, ALL rescues charge varying fees to adopt one of their parrots and require that you fill out a detailed application plus provide references. Most rescues will not let you adopt a large parrot unless you live in a house due to their screaming abilities.
GO TO 'RESCUE THE BIRDS' WEBSITE (Link is in the Description) and read thru their adoption requirements for more information!
