http://www.savate.tk - BLOG. Legend of UFC 1, and K1 Gerard Gordeau was a competitor in French boxing - Boxe Francaise - SAVATE. Netherland is his homeland, and in 1991 he represented savate for his country. In Netherland savate team were also Mark Holland, Fred Royers, Ernesto Hoost.

@Theseus1000 Gordeau was (and is) a kyokushin karate fighter, and Kicking with the shin is standard in kyokushin.
Kicking with the shin IS banned in Savate, but it is a bit hard to enforce at times.

I see a lot of shin kicks, I thougth they were forbiden in Savate or do they ignore it if it looks like accidente ? Or is it only blocking with shin forbiden ?

Gordeau is a dirty fucker. Bit Gracie in the ear and eye-gauged Yuki Nakai so he went blind in one eye in a vale tudo match. To make someone blind you have to eye-gauge pretty hard And he still lost that match.
