@terratrema It is not just a greeting but pray which mean "May the peace and mercy of Allah be with you" and religiously when u pray for some1 they pray back, where as hello and shalom don't have any meanings, they r just words.

Well, maybe we don't WANT to say it back.
If she stood there and said "Shalom", could she legitimately chastise her audience for not yelling "Shalom" back?
Hell, if she stood there and simply said "Hello", would she honestly expect her audience to say "Hello" back?
