  • During my first year in university (1968) I played and played this LP ... to my roommate's exasperation. The album of course tells a poignant story, from the first track to the last, of love found, love lived and love lost.

It was my favourite album way back then. And although I have over the years acquired hundreds of LPs, Damita Jo's "If You Go Away" remains a treasured one.

  • @barelysoup Thanks for your comments; it is appreciated.

  • I remember back in 1967 I would drive about 80 miles one way to a job and it was summer time in beautiful Oregon and I just loved hearing this song. I was 18 years old. I searched for years and kept coming up with deadends until I found Yellow Days by Damita Jo....I knew I wasn't crazy and she actually had recorded this song. Thanks so much Wally for giving me back some fond memories.

  • @finninam You are welcome; thanks for sharing your memories with us.

  • Thank you for an extraordinary song by an extraordinary performer. Wish I had known of her back then.

  • You're welcome.

  • beautiful !!!

  • I agree. I wanted to upload more songs, but most of them are currently available on a couple of cd releases and I didn't want to get caught up in copyright infringement issues. The songs I chose don't appear (or have never appeared on any) on any cd.

  • Another classic from her best album, "If You Go Way"...what a classic artist...such a shame she never had the fame she deserved...most of her records were nowhere as good as this album, she recorded some real mediocre songs, but every track on this album was perfection.

  • Thanks for the comment - glad you enjoyed it.
