1949 Philco "Boomerang" style tube radio with 78rpm record player. Perhaps an early inspiration for the front loading CD player. Video and Audio was recorded with a Canon HG10 HD Camcorder.
You must live in Michigan ... ? I am not far from Flint and have a Philco 46-1201 that works but I think needs a new phono cartridge. Any idea where to get one ?
It's a very cool piece but your presentation of it makes me think you must have attention deficit disorder. Why don't you let one song play all the way through as though you actually enjoy listening to it ? 5 seconds of this and 5 seconds of that is very disconcerting.
Philco called their 1201 the "Bing Crosby" because they sponsored his "PHILCO RADIO TIME" on ABC from 1946 through '49. This one was probably one of the last models announcer Ken Carpenter "pitched" on Bing's radio show before they moved to CBS [for Liggett & Myers' Chesterfield] in the fall of '49.

Lvely machine, but we did not see the record ejected. Could you please show that. Was it Manuel, or did the record eject at the end of playing.

I saw the Bing Crosby ad for this once on ebay. I never saw one for real. It looks beautiful and sounds terrific.
