Please explain to me why there are more global catastrophes (floods, cyclones, hurricanes), why islands are disappearing, why the ice caps are melting, why glaciers thousands of years old are melting, why more polar bears are dying because their ice flows are melting earlier than before, why temperatures are getting hotter every year, (40 degree heat in Melbourne every year weeks on end), why places with abundant water supplies now are on permanent water restrictions? The list goes on.

John, this has nothing to do with politics and I won't be drawn into that kind of diversion. Try reading and understanding some science instead. The science doesn't change depending on your political ideology, and it is telling us we're overloading the atmospheric phase of the carbon cycle with disastrous results.

Whatever you think of the policy response to anthropogenic enhanced global warming (ie. the carbon price), that should be separate from the science that tells us it's real. And it is real. I'll trust peer-reviewed science every time over irrational conspiracy theories driven by political ideology.

Please shelve the anti-science cognitive dissonance and concentrate on coming up with policies that will work to address the problem.

This video contains lots of impressive numbers that are completely IRRELEVANT, a blatant misrepresentation of science. Galileo would be furious his name is being linked to such nonsense. What is relevant:

1. atmospheric CO2 concentration is at 400ppm when it hasn't been above 300ppm (and rarely above 280ppm) in the past 12 glacial-interglacial cycles. In other words, humans have pushed atmospheric CO2 concentration well OUTSIDE THE BOUNDARIES OF THE NATURAL CYCLE IN RECENT GEOLOGICAL HISTORY.

2. CO2 increase trails temperature increase in the natural cycle because something needs to trigger the warming before the carbon cycle naturally starts to release CO2 and CH4 to the atmosphere (from oceans, permafrost, clathrates, etc). The triggering factor is orbital cycles, also known as Milankovitch cycles, which are well-understood science.
