From the Scientology protest in Battle Creek, MI on 3/15/08

No footage of the actual arrest; I wasn't aware it happened until after the fact and I'm a timid cameraman. I'll try to do better in the future. This is mostly just some footage of the cops and our reactions.

The Scientologists made several calls to the Battle Creek police about the noise we were making (we weren't being particularly noisy, mostly just playing music and cheering when people honked). However after we all sang Happy Birthday to L Ron Hubbard the police got upset and gave us all a speech. I was only able to get the lasts few seconds on tape (the officer threatening to "bring a bus and put us all in jail").

We were ordered (illegaly) to de-mask by the police; one person made a makeshift mask using his protest sign and was arrested. We pooled together the necessary money to bail him out (anon leaves no one behind). Much thanks to the guy who shouldered a third of the bail cost.

All charges against the person were later dropped by a Calhoun County court; Michigan law states masks are illegal if the person wearing them is committing a crime. He was committing no crime.

i had the same prob in farmington hills. a cop threatened 2 ticket me for handing out flyers. it happend AFTER a scifag came out and talked to the cop.

theirs battle creek cops for you. they tried to charge us kids with malicious destruction of property because we were sitting by a broken muffler man sign. but the real reason was because we were kids with skateboards. this city is corrupted.

we need to better organize here. we don't have enough going to these protests and we need coordination. what they did here was not within their rights and it was a violation of the first amendment rights.

i used to live in battle creek, damn i'm glad i left...its such a ****hole, but anyway, yeah, it doesnt suprise me that the scientologist have a firm grip on even the smallest towns..its not a religion, its a concept that was written by a SCIENCE FICTION WRITER. look up "mission earth"...the decology written by l ron hubbard. my god, how could anyone take his ideas seriously. again he's a SCIENCE FICTION WRITER!! get real people!
