Fondé en 1999, ce quintet surprend tant par sa maîtrise technique que par la richesse de son répertoire. Mêlant une tradition savante ancestrale à diverses influences contemporaines, le joueur de kanun Goksel Baktagir, accompagné de Yurdal Toktchan (oud), Emrullah Shenguller (violoncelle), Selim Guler (kementche) et Bulent Elmas (percussions), invite les auditeurs avertis comme les néophytes à un voyage onirique dans l'océan sans fin des makams, sur fond de virtuosité effrénée.

Founded in 1999, this surprizing quintet astonishes its audience thanks to an incredible virtuosity and the richness of its repertory. Reconciliating erudite tradition with popular and contemporary influences, young kanun master Göksel Baktagir (kanun), with Yurdal Tokçan (oud), Emrullah Şengüller (cello), Selim Güler (kemençe) and Bülent Elmas (percussions), invite the amateur as well as the neophyte to a oniric journey in the wide galaxy of the makams.
