nope. jj does not play favorites with anyone. i've been watching her for over a decade and she is by far the most even and fair of all the teevee judges.

also the most experience and most learned.

i wish the supreme court was full of jjs.

@AshyHusky1 I've watched A LOT of Judge Judy, and she is a very good judge of character. She has admitted that sometimes she's wrong, but that's even true of sitting judges. Even though she's an arbitrator she has several decades of experience and knows the law like the back of her hand. In my estimation she's wrong about 10-15% of the time. Most objective viewers would say about the same. We live in a time when people don't accept personal responsibility, but JJ makes them.

@TheTubePortal your right... the ''loser'' doesnt pay anything..  the producer pays the Plaintiff.. the show is rigged and its a scam.. yes she was a family court judge.. but now shes not a judge but arbitrator... but you cant go back and challenge her .. they make you sign a waiver they do that because half the time Judge Judy is way Wrong

@ghostnemre Plus free airfare, a free hotel room, free meals, an appearance fee, the chance to be on TV, meet Judge Judy. As you noted the winner is paid by the show, and loser doesn't have to pay anything. So all litigants and their witnesses come out of it with quite a bit.

@sgal88 The litigants are people who've filed in small claims courts around the country. The producers of JJ search through court dockets to find interesting cases, then call them and ask if they'd like to cancel their case and have it decided by JJ instead. If they agree, they are flown in, given a hotel room, and sign a binding contract that JJ has the final word on the case. The producers pay each person an "appearance fee", but also pay the winner of the case. Loser pays nothing.

@sgal88 Not really, the 'looser' doesn't lose anything out of her/his pocket. Infact he/she get $138 or some for appearing and presenting his/her case. That's probably why we see a lot of idiot defendants. The show pays for the judgement and that's that.
