2007 Patriots Only 18-1 NFL team without the superbowl title.

@drbayoms Sure, that's why Rice was still going to Pro Bowls at an age when most WRs are out of the league for about a decade, because of all the "advantages" he had. He wasn't exceptionally gifted physically and he certainly wasn't a burner, and was much less so when he made the Pro Bowl and All-Pro team with the Raiders. And I still say Moss coasted on his physical abilities ("I play when I want to.").
-
Rice had a team and organization that set the standard in the NFL. And his best years (22 TDs, NFL Off POY, Super Bowl MVP, 2 Super Bowls) all came within his first six years with the Greatest QB of all time. Rice worked, but he had way more advantages than most receivers.
You can have the last word.

Front runner is a lazy and stupid comment. Randy did not choose NE. They chose him. So much so that Brady reworked his contract to get him. I do not need to see Randy running up a hill in slow motion in a 1990 NFL Films production (like Jerry Rice did) in order to know he worked to put up those numbers. If you play with the Greatest QB and coach of all time (like Jerry did) you are going to have success if you work.
-
Cut the work ethic bullshit. Jerry Rice accomplished what he did because he was drafted by the DEFENDING SUPER BOWL CHAMPS. From day 1 he had MORE advantages than Moss. He came in his Rookie year and played with the Greatest QB of all time. He was coached by the Greatest coach of all time. Jerry had more advantages than MOST receivers coming into the league.
Moss played with a HOFame caliber QB for 4 seasons. And he did not get that honor until he was in the league for a decade.
-
@drbayoms Moss could've been the best ever. He was that good. If he had 1/4 of the work ethic Jerry Rice did, he would've been. He coasted on his talent and that was a waste. He also quit on multiple teams before going to NE, hence the frontrunner charge.
-
Randy Moss had a HOFame career before he played 1 down in NE. He however did not have a Brady like QB.
When you are great, you are not a front runner. Belichick knew he was great and wanted him. As did Favre.
Looks like Wes Welker will retire with the same number of rings as Moss. But at least Moss will be in the HOFame. Welker won't.
Randy Went from trashy to classy.
