A cod piece is something that men in england used to wear as a kind of 'fashion accessory' during the 15th century, to enhance their cod (penis). It really has no relevance to the earthships discussion and I'm an idiot for posting it (although in my defence it was really late when i wrote that dumb comment, and i was drunk too:)

There are automatic gas filled window openers used for greenhouses to open windows at a certain temperature. They use no electricity or external power source at all. Just surrounding temperature, because the expanding gas does the work. They cost only about 20 bucks. But I suppose you already knew that.
