This marble machine is modelled after Denha's catapult marble machine. It took about 15 hours of CAD work to design the marble machine and 40 hours to build it. I purchased the Solarbotics 30:1 gear motor, plastic gears, battery holder and toggle switch from from Technobots in the UK. The track is made from 1mm brass rod on on 6mm centers. The index linkage is 2mm brass rod. I purchased the brass and plastic rods, and stainless steel ball bearings from McMaster Carr in the USA. The extension spring is from SpaeNaur in Canada. The wood is a combination of hardwood and softwood. I carved the profile on the loading table with a Proxxon rotary tool using carbide burr. Thanks for watching my video!

  • For sale???

  • @sgentlemanjack112 Nope! :)

  • great machine congrats, where do you get the plastic gears from, i gather they have 3mm bore for the shaft and im stuggling to get a 60 tooth gear with a 3mm bore from anywhere. keep up the good work :)

  • @garyaj072 I bought all my plastic gears from Technobots in the UK. If you google "Technobots UK", you will find them. I got the white "MOD 0.5 Economy" gears. They come in 10 packs and the price is ridiculously cheap, but shipping is not, so it is best to combine them with any other items that you "need". The bore on the stock gears was 2mm. I just drilled them out to obtain the size that I needed.

  • I liked your video. How do connect the metal sections together. Soldering? How do you do that. I'm a total rookie.

  • @mndak76 Yes. The brass wires are soldered. I used a toothpick to apply some plumbing solder paste first.
