http://oaklandfocus.blogspot.com - Since the new Whole Foods opened on 27th and Harrison, it seemed to me that there were fewer people at the Lake Merritt Farmers Market. On Saturday, I decided to take camera in hand and ask the vendors for their views.

  • I agree with the first lady, recently in Italy they have been debating in Parliament about foods such as olive oils being produced elsewhere in Europe and distributed globally with fake Italian names. They mentioned a German made olive oil that IS shipped to the states that contains a high amount of Nut oil????? Good film Zennie, I love these interview style films and I love to know whats going on in Oakland as a potential tourist =]

  • Wow...I'm lost this must be a local issue...

  • The first woman is right, TJ's is for packaged foods, not produce - whereas Whole Foods does have good produce. But then, as the second person points out, a farmer's market is a family and social event, not just a shopping errand. I think there's room for all three in a vibrant neighborhood. Good question & video.
