Apparently I'm the only person who doesn't carry a fire extinguisher.

15 minutes from call, till the fire engine arrives on scene is exellent? I'm a firefighter at a volunteer firedept. in Rhineland-Palatinate / Germany, and our county law says, that we have only 8 minutes to get on scene and start first effective help. This means: whenever we get an alarm by our pager, we have to get to the station, jump into our clothes, get on scene and start to help in 8 mins.It doesn't care a pap if they call on daytime, at midnight or if you got laid by your girlfriend.

@abervintageman42 we don't have very many people in our fire dept.. we do what we can living in such a small town.

Who's that lady regulating the traffic? Did they pull her out of a dish washer area of a restaurant?

@coolsax64 I work in EMS and even when im not on call I still put my clothes on but its not required to wear that gear when your not on call. But yes I agree people should do that, but a lot of times especially when your responding as a 1st responder your not close to home where your clothes are. I keep a EMS vest in my car as well just in case of accidents like this. Not to mention if this person is just a volunteer they might not even have a uniform. Congrats on your retirement.

@WRXSubaru08 I retired from the fire service in 2008 however, I still teach and am currently teaching Pumper opperator and EVOC to local fire districts near my town including the dept I retired from. We emphisize safety above all else. If you are not in the propper PPE ( turnouts) or if you are EMS responding on the ambulance not in a POV to the scene you need to have full length uniform pants, Boots and safety vest. We are forbidden from going POV to the scene.

@coolsax64 and also the midwest or east coast crap, get over yourself dont act like your all king shit because you live on the west coast and think because of one video on youtube that we dont know how to look professional...

@coolsax64 hey Im not sure if you realize this or not but that person is probably a first responder. If you worked in some sort of EMS organization you probably would have realized that. I was thinking the same thing when i first saw them but then soon realized what they were doing when I saw the "Fire" on the vest. Im not sure if those rules are in place where you live but here we absolutely have to wear vests even if your not on duty when you go to the scene. its called scene safety.
