The Flying Heritage Collection has several Fly Days per year where they fly their WWII planes. These planes are originals that they keep in flying condition. On June 20, 2009, they flew an American Tomahawk and a Soviet Polikarpov. My brother invited me to go to the Fly Day with him. He was especially interested in the Soviet "Rata." I was amazed as I watched the warbirds fly. I realized that I was seeing sights and hearing sounds that very few people of my generation could have experienced. At one point in the video (around 6:05) you can hear someone in the crowd make a rat-tat-tat-tat sound as the planes fly overhead. We were all having WWII thoughts. This is a wonderful, historic gift provided by FHC and the pilots! Thank you.
Sorry for the shaky camera. I was shooting with my little digital camera, unplanned and on the fly. (No pun intended).
