Saying goodbye to our former arch rival, the Augusta Lynx.
2008 was a rough year for the ECHL South Division who just last season fielded 9 teams -- the largest division in the ECHL.
The club had been struggling finacially at the begining of the season but the hope of new investors in early December 2008 never came to fuition.
The Lynx would tender their membership to the league on December 2nd, 2008 at 5:00 PM ET.
Until this time, it had nearly been unheard of for a team to fold mid-season.

I loved these guys. I remember when I was little I would go to their games all the time. I even got a jersey signed by all the players. Sadly, I can't find it. :(
