This is lesson four in the Introduction to Persian (Farsi) series. This lesson is about people. I am simply learning and practicing Farsi myself, so bare with me if my pronunciation isn't good. I have not had a lot of people to practice with. If you post comments feel free to reference books and other teaching sources to help myself and others learn the language.

  • sighh... im gonna try to say this in the nicest way possible.

your pronunciation isnt "shaky," its ATROCIOUS. @alien89 hit the nail on the head. you sound like an Indian with a horrible speech impediment (no offense to indians). that being said, it looks like you are working really hard to learn the language. watch iranian cartoons with eng subtitles to work on your pronunciation. yeah sorry if that was mean... but... "bardadardar" or w/e you said sounded like an indian robot short circuiting

  • learning how to read and write is the best way to learn for the long term. the sounds will come in good time.

  • Your prenounciation is not shaky - it's terrible, I'm sorry.

Brother is "Barãdar" and you say "bardadar"

Sister is "Khãhar" and you say "Hâhãr".

Your accent is some what Indian so please work on it. Your vocabulary seems brilliant so don't ruin your great work with that awful accent! :)

Anyway you've done a brilliant job!

  • @hepuli91

    Agreed!

  • first thing to learn is maybe the right name of the language which is PERSIAN NOT FARSI if you are speaking in english!!

  • i can read and write in farsi, urdu or any persian type langauge.

  • work on your pronounciation!!!! sounds pritty funny ;D most likely, in Iran they wouldn't understand you. But keep going, your doing well, just the pronounciation!

  • Crystal! Thank you for very helpful advices!

  • Having watched a few of these, I totally have done all the same things in teaching myself Urdu. I'm of course here, cause I've been interested in Farsi, as well. I know how hard it can be, so nevermind the trolls. At least you're honest and making a good faith effort.

  • Your pronunciation is a little off but overall you're very good at it
