@pearsonbowhunter As sawman00 said, but to add. Make sure it is with the respected instructors, that is USPPA certified. You will get good advice, and will likely be told the do's and don't. The competitor to the USPPA that claims to be legit, has been arrested and has done things that do go against FAA regulations. The sport needs responsible individuals training people, not those who thumb their nose at the law.
Or brutolf, you can just have excellent glider control and retain power, you'll prevent bad landings caused by nature's little surprises close to the ground.
"Imasuper" would say "you see that flat-top, still flying and taking of as nothing happened".
And a little advice, "downwind, base line and then final" turn off the engine before going on the final and you'll save a lot of work and money in case of a bad landing. And for the starts, you can always go back and try again so don't push it.

@pearsonbowhunter They are considered "Ultralights" by the FAA. No license required, but you better get training cause it can, and does, kill.
